Thanks for sharing, Kashy!

I love your honesty. You should remind your readers to engage with the article, on Notes, etc. I have a few ideas for you, to get more subs - please DM me

This is great advice Adam! I feel like many writers online, myself especially, struggle with balancing time between writing and building our community. 30 minutes is really disciplined! I notice myself spending time on Substack reading things when I should be working. Definitely like the idea of focusing more on writing my newsletter and trusting the process

Thanks a lot, Kunal!

I think both activities are essential. I wish I had more time to read stories and Notes here on Substack and elsewhere - I think it's important because we're all building communities, aren't we? We're not just preaching to the masses from a glass tower. We want to build connections, and we listen to each other. And I also love the Substack community. But please remember, in the end of the day, the most productive and lucrative activity is content creation. If you want to be part of 'the 1%', you can't do what 99% of people do online, which is to consume content more than they create.

Additionally, I've learned that investing heavily in high-quality, helpful content will attract more opportunities (such as collaborations, shares, and restacks) and ultimately, you'll need to spend less time marketing it on social media. The content will work for you.

Thank you for this. You're right - all the "growth" people seem to think we have nothing else to do but engage. I work another job, so my attention is already split between that and my newsletter, and engagement takes so much energy for me. It's good to have a "map" to start thinking about this. :)

Yes, Vanessa, imwe need to find the right balance and put most of our efforts into what moves the needle for us. Social media is 90% distraction in my view, and it must be managed
